'Tetris' Movie Announced

Take it as you will, apparently we might get a Tetris film in the not to distant future. It was announced that Threshold Entertainment will develop a live-action film adaptation of the classic '80s video game.

Threshold's CEO Larry Kasanoff told the Wall Street Journal (via /Film) about the development of the film, which according to the report has no director or cast attached but does have a story prepared. No details were given on what they do have planned for the film, but of the story and the property Kasanoff said:
"Brands are the new stars of Hollywood. We have a story behind 'Tetris' which makes it a much more imaginative thing. It's a very big, epic sci-fi movie. This isn't a movie with a bunch of lines running around the page. We're not giving feet to the geometric shapes."
We sure hope they don't plan to have geometric shapes with feet running around, and he does make a good point that brands are definitely a big force in Hollywood at the moment. Still, I have a hard time imagining what kind of story and entire film can be made based on a game like Tetris. At least they seem confident about it, and if the film would succeed other plans are already in mind:
"We certainly have the canvas for location-based entertainment based on the epicness. What you [will] see in 'Tetris' is the teeny tip of an iceberg that has intergalactic significance."

First 'TAK3N' Trailer Released

Last week we got to see the first images for Taken 3, along with the plot and the official title of the film, which will be Tak3n. In this next installment we see Liam Neeson getting framed for the murder of his wife, so he must go on the run to clear his name while being chased by the authorities and try to protect his daughter at the same time. 20th Century Fox released the first trailer for Tak3n and it is typical Bryan Mills in all his ass-kicking glory, check out the trailer below.

'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' Director Not Returning For Sequel

The Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters sequel will have to look for a new director. Tommy Wirkola has announced that he would not be returning as director for the follow-up film, he wrote a script for the sequel but any further involvement is unknown.

Wirkola revealed the news while talking to Fangoria, claiming that the reason he was dropping out was having no interest in just doing sequels and wanting to do something different. The complete statement that Wirkola gave was the following:
"I’ve just decided to not direct Hansel & Gretel 2. I have been lately attached to a few more things, it’s just a matter of time and priorities. I did Dead Snow 1, then Hansel & Gretel 1, and then Dead Snow 2. I want to do something a little bit different now and not just do sequels. I did write the script and I hope to be involved in it. But yeah, I won’t be directing it."
I think it's a little bit early to say that this will definitely be bad for the film, and you cant't blame the director for wanting to do something different. The movie didn't really do well domestically so maybe bringing a new director in can be an opportunity to do things better the second time around. As far as I know, Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton haven't even been attached to return yet, so I think Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 2 might make the people wanting it to happen wait for a while.

Lucasfilm Met With David Fincher For 'Star Wars: Episode VII'

One of the many things that were being talked about since it was announced that Star Wars: Episode VII was coming was who would be directing the film, and before finally reaching an agreement with J.J. Abrams, Lucasfilm must have met with a bunch of directors that rumors said included many A-Listers. One of the directors rumored to have talked to Lucasfilm was David Fincher, and the director himself is confirming the meeting took place but the discussion didn't lead anywhere.

Fincher was talking to Total Film, and in a conversation that included his upcoming film Gone Girl, the director revealed that he spoke with producer Kathleen Kennedy about possibly directing Star Wars: Episode VII. Fincher gave the following comments about the meeting:
"I talked to Kathy about it, but I think that it’s a different thing from… I don’t know what Disney-Lucasfilm will be like. It’s tricky. My favorite is The Empire Strikes Back. If I said, ‘I want to do something more like that,’ then I’m sure the people paying for it would be like, ‘No! You can’t do that! We want it like the other one with all the creatures!’ I always thought of Star Wars as the story of two slaves [C-3PO and R2-D2] who go from owner to owner, witnessing their masters’ folly, the ultimate folly of man… I thought it was an interesting idea in the first two, but it’s kind of gone by Return Of The Jedi."
With David Fincher being the great director that he is, I'm sure that most of us could agree that a Star Wars movie directed by him would be pretty interesting to see, but saying that he sees Star Wars as a slave story about C-3PO and R2-D2 is a bit odd, to say the least. That view is possibly why his involvement didn't end up happening, and he does point that out in a way by saying the people higher up probably wouldn't have let him make the film he would have wanted to.

Dwayne Johnson Starring in 'The Janson Directive'; Akiva Goldsman Writing Script

Dwayne Johnson has announced his most recent role, the actor has gone on Twitter to confirm that he will star in Universal's The Janson Directive. The film is an adaptation of a novel of the same name written by Robert Ludlum, that follows a legendary former agent in the Consular Operations agency that finds himself on the run for his life after a rescue attempt goes very wrong. Johnson also announces in his post that Academy Award winner Akiva Goldsman will write the script for The Janson Directive.

The premise of the film sounds basic as far as action movies go and Dwayne Johnson fits into this type of action role, he is way overdue for leading a successful franchise and this could very well be the one. Adapting this novel Universal seemingly wants to start another Bourne type series and with the success they had with those films it would make sense, getting an award-winning writer to pen the script is also a great move but no further information is known about the film at the moment, so not much left to add.

Simon Kinberg Talks More 'X-Men: Apocalypse'; Hints Recasting Younger Versions of Characters

There has been a lot of talk of X-Men: Apocalypse recently, the last we heard was confirmation that Bryan Singer would be directing the next installment, with some Days of Future Past news also coming out involving the Rogue character in the film. Fans can't get enough of X-Men, so Simon Kinberg took some time to answer some questions and hinted that Apocalypse would complete a trilogy that was initially set for the First Class cast and that moving on with the younger characters could mean having to recast younger versions of some X-Men.

While promoting the X-Men: Days of Future Past Blu-ray release, Kinberg spoke to Yahoo! Movies UK and answered some questions sent in by fans, giving insight to the future of the franchise and more. From all the questions answered by Kinberg, a couple of points stand out, those being that X-Men: Apocalypse would center on the First Class cast while completing the trilogy that was originally set up and that if other X-Men main characters would be added they would have to be recast as younger versions. About completing the trilogy Kinberg said the following:
“The thrust of ‘Apocalypse’ is really to complete the trilogy we began with ‘First Class’ - to complete the stories of young Raven, young Hank, younger Charles and Erik. And complete this trilogy of four people who began the films sort of disparate and in different worlds…[and who] we’ve followed through the span of decades. So that’ll be the thrust. There will be familiar characters and new characters that we haven’t seen…ever…but it’ll be the completion of what we began in ‘First Class’.”
These comments, in my opinion, shouldn't be taken as meaning that everything will end with Apocalypse but that there will be a closure to this trilogy and they plan to move on after it. Speaking of seeing familiar characters, if talking about those from the original trilogy, that would mean there would be recasting of younger versions, to which Kinberg said:

“If we included some of the original X-Men, like Storm, Jean, Scott and others in ‘Apocalypse’, yeah we would have to recast them because ‘Apocalypse’ takes place a good 20 years before ‘X1’which now insanely is 10-15 years ago. It would be very hard to do. Halle [Berry], Famke [Janssen] and James [Marsden] have done such a wonderful job bringing those characters to life and have been so identified with the parts. It would be a tall task, but I also would’ve said before ‘First Class’ that there was no way we’d find actors to stand alongside Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, and we did with Michael [Fassbender] and James [McAvoy]. Are we going to have to recast? If some of characters are in the movie, we would. But we shall wait and see.
It would make sense to cast younger actors to play these characters we've seen before and like Kinberg pointed out, if it could be done for Prof. X and Magneto it could also be done for other characters, and I think that would be the way to go if the plans are to continue the franchise with the First Class cast.

Quentin Tarantino's 'The Hateful Eight' Will Shoot in Colorado on December 8th

Now that we are past all the complications that had to be dealt with early on for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, fans that are anticipating the film can breath easier as production runs its course until the film is released in Fall 2015. The latest news from the production is that filming will take place in Colorado and plans to begin as early as December.

According to the Denver Post, Colorado beat Utah and Wyoming as to the location where the film would be shot, making The Hateful Eight, budgeted at $44 million, the biggest production in the state since western classic True Grit (1996). Prep work is reported to take place next month with filming expected to start on December 8th just outside Telluride, and the entire film, interiors and exteriors, will be shot in the state of Colorado.

Quentin Taratino's The Hateful Eight will be set in the early 1870s and will center on Civil War vets, bounty hunters and scoundrels as they descend on a small town. No official announcement on cast has been made but it is expected to be small and include Tarantino favorites like Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, Amber Tamblyn and Bruce Dern.

Fun Post: Death of Bruce Wayne's Parents Mash-up

The story of Batman has been told on the screen many times, on movies, TV series, animated series and most recently with the live action TV show Gotham. Telling the story of Batman can't be done without portraying the reason that made Bruce Wayne become the Caped Crusader, the murder of his parents, so this moment has been seen on screen in many occasions.

Vulture has made a great video mash-up that puts together all of the times Bruce Wayne's parents have been killed into a single video. Check it out below.

Warner Bros. released the latest trailer for the upcoming film Jupiter Ascending, giving a little more insight on the plot of the film. The most recent directorial work from the Wachowski brothers, Jupiter Ascending follows Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), an out-of-luck girl with a destiny of greatness that is yet to be uncovered, and Cain (Chaning Tatum), a genetically engineered hunter who tacks her down to Earth and begins revealing the importance of her existence in the cosmos. The film also stars Eddie Redmayne, Sean Bean, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, James D’Arcy, Tim Pigott-Smith, and Doona Bae, it opens on February 6th, 2015. Check out the trailer below.

'The Maze Runner' Sequel Casts Villain

Earlier this week it was announced that The Maze Runner sequel, The Scorch Trials, had received a release date. From the looks of it the film is moving forward at a strong pace because it has now found its villain in Game of Thrones actor Aidan Gillen.

THR reports that the actor will portray a character named Janson, who turns out to be the main villain of the book series and is also known as Rat-Man. The Scorch Trials takes place right after the events of The Maze Runner, the film is set to begin shooting in October for a September 18th, 2015 release date.

'Y: The Last Man' Movie Adaptation Not Happening

I had heard rumblings about the comic Y: The Last Man getting a movie adaptation a long time ago (I don't read the comics but know it is very popular), from what I understand the project has been through a tough development process and has had multiple directors attached. The director who was last attached to the film, Dan Trachtenberg, confirmed that the movie plans for the comic book are dead by answering a question on Twitter (via /Film) with “Not happening. But it’s in trusted hands (the creators).” Created by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia GuerraY: The Last Man is a series that centers on Yorick Brown as the last man on earth after a virus eliminates all of the males on the planet.

/Film spoke to Trachtenberg who discussed that the rights had gone back to the creators, his plans on how to make the film and that he actually thinks Y: The Last Man could work better as a TV series:
"The rights reverted back to Brian quite a few months ago."
"I had such a great time working on that project and am truly sad the things we were cooking up can no longer happen."
"Like everyone else who’s a fan of the series I had always wished it either remain in its comic book form. Or, if it must be made, a TV series would be the only thing that would suffice."
"However, the “big screen” and the “small screen” has changed drastically since Y came out and I think so much of the great TV in our current “golden age” has been directly or indirectly inspired by Y the Last Man. I started getting excited about bringing to the BIG screen what we’ve been getting in TV so readily now— great characters, RELATIONSHIPS, world building and genre re-combination."
"Truly- I was excited to make an ADVENTURE movie, with swashbuckle, that was fun and funny but had something to say. Which is something that is distinctly BKV. Having real, true, honest ,people stuff amidst the big, fun, action stuff. We were in many ways quite faithful to the comic, though some characters were combined and some events re-arranged and some brief moments of action we dug into to create bigger action/adventure sequences."
"The script was essentially the first two trades. Taking inspiration from the original Star Wars (Episode 4)- we wanted to tell a complete story…but not the whole story.  Hoping that, in success, we could get tell the rest of our serialized adventure."
"Raiders of the Lost Ark was referenced a lot. Midnight Run and Big Trouble in Little China were referenced a lot.  Willow and Ladyhawke I may have referenced a little too often…"

Fox to Release a "Rogue Cut" of 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' in 2015

Before X-Men: Days of Future Past hit theaters this summer it was known that Anna Paquin's character, Rogue, had a role to play in the film that was eventually cut from the theatrical version. Rogue played a role in a sub-plot that didn't serve the main story, so all of her scenes ended up being cut and we only got to see her in a small cameo at the end of the film. Now it looks like Fox has plans to show the fans what the film would have looked like if those scenes weren't cut.

Variety reports that the studio is planning to release a "Rogue Cut" of X-Men Days of Future Past, most likely sometime in Summer 2015. The re-release will add more than 10 minutes of extra footage, that along with all of the Rogue scenes will include additional sequences with other characters. Writer/producer Simon Kinberg had some comments about the relevance of Rogue's sub-plot in the film:
“It’s a big chunk, a substantial part of the movie.  We want to give (fans) the fullest picture of the film—behind the camera, and in front of it… Every movie has scenes that are cut out, but not every movie has scenes cut out with such a beloved character.”
I think this is a smart move by Fox, they get to ride the success of Days of Future Past in anticipation of X-Men: Apocalypse and the fans get to see more of this great film. I am sure that the people that were hoping to see Rogue the first time around and that were disappointed they didn't get to will be thrilled about this.

Ridley Scott Gives Updates on 'Blade Runner 2' and 'Prometheus 2'

It is no Hollywood mystery that Ridley Scott is a very busy man at the moment, he is finishing up Exodus: Gods and Kings and has all the machines in motion for The Martian. Fans and even Scott himself really want to see Blade Runner 2 and Prometheus 2 happen, but with the director having so much on his plate the recurring question is which one will happen next and if they will actually happen. Ridley Scott has offered more insight on the matter and even hinted that the Xenomorphs from Alien could not even play a part in Prometheus 2.

Yahoo talked to Scott, and while discussing Exodus: Gods and Kings, the director also offered some updates on where Blade Runner 2 and Prometheus 2 stand. About Blade Runner 2, the director said that the script for the film is ready and he even met with Harrison Ford to discuss the film they day before his injury on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII:
“We met the night before he had the accident, so I hope I had nothing to do with it.”
“It’s on the charts. I can’t say when that would be yet, because of [Ford’s] thing with ‘Star Wars’. It’s a sequel – it’s what happens next. It’s quite surprisingly clever.”
When talking about Prometheus 2, Scott mentioned that the script is currently being worked on, commented about the negative reviews of Prometheus revolving around the lack of Xenomorphs and suggested that the monsters will not be appearing in the sequel:
“Right now, as we speak, it’s being written. I've had 15 drafts evolving. I definitely want to do that again because I really enjoyed doing ‘Prometheus.’”
“The beast is done. Cooked. I got lucky meeting Giger all those years ago. It’s very hard to repeat that. I just happen to be the one who forced it through because they said it’s obscene. They didn’t want to do it and I said, ‘I want to do it, it’s fantastic’. But after four, I think it wears out a little bit. There’s only so much snarling you can do. I think you’ve got to come back with something more interesting. And I think we’ve found the next step. I thought the Engineers were quite a good start.”
All the comments point to Blade Runner 2 being the project closest to being ready to be made, but with Ford being busy with Star Wars, that could give Prometheus 2 time to catch up leaving the decision to what will be next up to Scott. Whatever ends up happening the sequel that ends up taking the second spot might be pushed back too long for it to even be worth making, so some suggestions are that Scott passes directing duties to someone else. We will have to wait for further updates, for the time being, Exodus : Gods and Kings opens on December 12, and The Martian has a November 25th, 2015 release date.

Michael Peña in Talks for Ridley Scott's 'The Martian'

Ridley Scott's The Martian is really picking up steam, at least when it comes to casting in the past weeks, with all the big names being thrown into the mix we can now add Michael Peña. The actor is reported to be in talks for a role in the film and would join Matt Damon.

Variety reported that Peña is in early negotiations for a role in the film and that the actor is interested, but his involvement will only depend on his schedule which is looking busy. Jessica Chastain is also reported to be in talks for a part it the film, but names like Kate Mara, Kristen Wiig and Mackenzie Davis have also been circling the film for possible roles.

The Martian will be based on a book by Andy Weir, that tells the story of an astronaut stranded on Mars after being left for dead by his crew and must find a way to remain alive and get back home. Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon, the film is set to be released on November 25th, 2015.

'The Babadook' Trailer

IFC Films has released the trailer for the horror film The Babadook and it is creepy and unsettling. The film follows a mother (Essie Davis) and her young son (Noah Wiseman), who are dealing with the passing of the father/husband. When the son begins obsessing about a book and something called The Babadook is when things start getting out of control and scary things start to happen to this family of two.

This film was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, leaving the audience horrified (in a good way) and talking about just how good this horror film is. This trailer serves its purpose well in my opinion, gives introduction to the story and those involved, gives you a taste of the scares without giving too much away so you can still be scared in the theater, and most importantly leaves you curious about what this creature is. I, like all the regular people who don't go to film festivals, have not seen the film yet so like everyone else will have to wait until the film opens in theaters on November 28th. Check out the trailer below.

Liam Neeson Joins 'Ted 2'

Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane made a great impression in his directorial debut with Ted, unsurprisingly after the success of the hit comedy he was quick to announce a sequel and tried his hand with a western comedy giving us A Million Ways to Die in the West. Unfortunately for McFarlane, the momentum that Ted had built up didn't seem to help A Million Ways to Die in the West since the film didn't do well at the box office and got some negative reviews, so now he must find build that momentum again with Ted 2.

A couple of weeks ago was when we learned that Morgan Freeman joined the cast of the film as the lawyer of the inappropriate teddy bear, and now Seth McFarlane has announced via Twitter that Liam Neeson will also have a role in the film. No word on specifics about the role that Neeson would play but popular belief is that, given the busy schedule he has, he would get a small part like a cameo, also with the film being reported to have cameos from several A-listers and pop culture figures it would make sense.
Ted 2 is currently filming and will star Mark Wahlberg and Amanda Seyfried, plus most of the original supporting cast and Seth McFarlane directing and writing, the film will hit theaters June 26th, 2015.

Fun Post: How 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' Should Have Ended, Everything Wrong With 'Captain America: The Winter Soilder'

I have been following two YouTube channels for a while that are very funny and think you should definitely check them out, they are called How It Should Have Ended and CinemaSins. The first one posts videos about how certain movies should have ended and gives animated versions of what should have happened, and the second channel posts videos that point out mistakes in films via narration going through the specific scenes. Both channels like I said are very funny and I wanted to share with you guys their latest videos, check them out below.

New 'Interstellar' Images

Empire Magazine has released new images from Christopher Nolan's upcoming film, Interstellar, starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, and Michael Caine. The images come from coverage on the film that the magazine will feature in their November edition that hits stands this Thursday, September 25th, while the film opens on November 7th.

The magazine also teased at thoughts of the film from McConaughey who said, "This is the grandest adventure I think any of us will ever see on film … This is the biggest film I’ve ever been a part of. This is one of the biggest films anyone’s ever been a part of." While co-star Hathaway added, "I am so excited for the world to receive this film, because there’s going to be a new conversation I believe will happen because of it. It’s not a dry, science-based film.  It has a pulse.  It’s got blood in its veins."

These comments and images add to the high anticipation for this film, so be sure to check those out below.

Jeremy Renner Talks Hawkeye Movie

After Marvel's standalone superhero films lead to The Avengers, there were members of the team that did not get and have not gotten yet a shot at their own solo films, those being Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow, so that has presented the reappearing question if they will get their own films. Most recently the talk has been around Hawkeye, actor Jeremy Renner made some comments recently about possibly appearing in Captain America 3 and even the Russo brothers commented on that.

Now Renner is talking Hawkeye again, on an interview with MTV the actor discussed his place in the MCU and his thoughts on a Hawkeye solo film, plus teased a possible involvement in Captain America 3. The actor touched on some unhappiness of the introduction of Hawkeye in Avengers, "The only way he (Joss Whedon) could do it and have me in the movie with any sort of sizable part, is to have me be the bad guy, essentially, and not Hawkeye. It’s a tough introduction to the character. It’s not what we talked about and got me excited about doing the movie. But that’s fine."

When asked about his desire of a Hawkeye solo film or to remain a part of the team-up movies the actor said,  "I’m happy to be the ensemble. I’m not scratching or clawing to do a solo movie by any means. I think he’s a utility guy that can bounce around into other people’s universes a little bit, especially like ‘Cap 3.’ " (The comments were followed by two winks at the camera).

This still doesn't confirm that Hawkeye will appear in Cap 3 but it looks like Renner is having fun with the tease, I do agree with him on not wanting a Hawkeye solo film because I also think that characters like his and Black Widow work better as supporting roles. The rumbling will go on until we get any type of official confirmation, so in the mean time we can just wait for Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America 3 coming out in May 1st, 2015 and May 6th, 2016, respectively. Check out the clip of the Jeremy Renner interview below.

Damien Chazelle to Direct Neil Armstrong Biopic

Director Damien Chazelle, who made a big impression at this year's Sundance Film Festival with the film Whiplash, is the pick to direct Universal's Neil Armstrong biopic, First Man. The project is said to have been going around for more than ten years and at one point was set up by Warner Bros. with Clint Eastwood on board to direct and produce.

According to THR, Chazelle is in early talks to direct the film which has Josh Singer attached to write the script. The film will be an adaptation from the book First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong by James Hansen, who had full access to NASA and Armstrong's family when writing the book. Armstrong became historically famous in 1969 by being the first person to set foot on the moon, and spoke the equally famous line "That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."

Vin Diesel Shares 'Fast and Furious 7' Images and Hints Trailer

Shooting has already finished for the upcoming Fast and Furious 7 and with post-production taking place fans of the franchise are expecting teasers for the film and/or a trailer. After the tragic passing of Paul Walker many were left wondering where the franchise is going and what would happen to the character, even after what has been said on the matter seeing the actual film is what will answer the questions but a trailer could hint at what will happen, and it appears that a trailer has already been made and we could be seeing it soon.

Vin Diesel has shared two new images of Fast and Furious 7 on his Facebook and included a caption that points out that he has seen the first trailer and what he thinks of it, "Universal came to visit, to show the trailer for FF7... Speechless... yeah, it was that INCREDIBLE! I must also say, that it was emotional and bittersweet... we all went above and beyond to make Pablo proud, but man, I wish he could see what we have created and just how far we have come."

Fast and Furious 7 is set to be released on April 3rd, 2015, the film is directed by James Wan and also starts Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Ronda Rousey, Tony Jaa, Nathalie Emmanuel, Lucas Black, John Brotherton, Djimon Hounsou, and Kurt Russell. Check out the new images below.

New 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' Trailer

20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for the upcoming Kingsman: The Secret Service, the film stars Colin Firth as a super spy who recruits Taron Egerton as a trouble-making teenager from the streets with no apparent future. The film is the latest from writer/director Matthew Vaughn and also stars Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Caine, it hits theaters on February 13th, 2015.

I was not on board initially with this film, the first trailer didn't catch my attention too much and the story wasn't particularly appealing. This newest trailer has changed my mind and it might have been from seeing Firth kicking ass at the beginning, the action scenes look great and from his latest work anything from Vaughn deserves attention. Check out the newest trailer for Kingsman: The Secret Service below.

'Taken 3' First Images, Plot and Title

Liam Neeson is back as ass-kicking retired CIA agent Bryan Mills for Taken 3. You would think after two movies people would have learned to stop messing with this guy but that doesn't seem to be the case since Neeson will now be trying to clear his name after being framed for murder and will be on the run from good guys and bad guys, the third installment in the franchise will be titled Tak3n.

USA Today talked to Neeson about the upcoming film and also shared images giving us a first look at it. When talking about the plot the actor said, "I have to go on the run, I'll put it that way, from the not-so-lawful types and the lawful authorities, Bryan Mills served his country faithfully, but now even they are after him. They must not like me."

The main plot doesn't look like it will follow the titles and story from the other films, it appears no one is getting taken in this next film, which might not make sense for some people but to me, other than not match with the title, it is the way to go. The second film left me tired with the same thing happening again and people being kidnapped but just in different countries, they have to change the story line for people to remain interested, at least in my opinion, and Liam Neeson appears to agree with that in a way, "This time, no more traveling. If my daughter was 'taken' again on a trip, Bryan Mills would have to be certifiably locked up for bad parenting."

Neeson also commented on knowing when enough is enough on the Taken films and his action career, "If I feel audiences saying, 'Come on, he's 62, enough is enough,' I'm very sensitive to that and if I pick up that vibe it will all stop. And I'll start playing dads or grandfathers. But I keep myself pretty fit and my knees are still great. And it's fun. It's a rollicking good story, but I think this is the end."

Of course if the films keep making enough money the studio will want to make more, but you can only stretch this franchise so long until either a films does badly or you run out of material to work with. But we can worry about that later, for know we can expect Tak3n in theaters on January 9th, 2015.

Bryan Cranston in Talks to Join 'The Great Wall'

Just yesterday we reported on the possibility of Matt Damon signing on to star in Legendary Pictures' The Great Wall, and now actor Bryan Cranston is reportedly up for a role in the film as well. The Great Wall will be directed by Zhang Yimou with a script by Tony Gilroy, the film revolves around the mysteries of why the Great Wall of China was built, and what secrets lay undiscovered under its stones.

Deadline reported that Cranston is in early stages of negotiations to co-star in the film alongside Damon, if it happens that everything goes well and both actors close their deals. Needles to say that adding two award-winning actors would most likely benefit the film, nothing has been officially confirmed and the film doesn't have a release date so the possible scenario is after the cast is set and schedules are worked on there should be announcements made, not to say that it could be soon.

'Jurassic World' Director Shares Image Teasing Original Film

By now most of us know that Jurassic Park is getting a new film, it will be called Jurassic World and will star Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, Vincent D’Onofrio, Irrfan Khan, Jake Johnson, Judy Greer, and Omar Sy, the film is directed by Colin Trevorrow and will be released on June 12th, 2015.

The film already finished shooting and to commemorate the beginning of autumn Trevorrow has gone on twitter to share a picture from the set that shows us something that should be familiar. The image show us a knocked down sign that points to the East Dock of the park, which, if you recall Jurassic Park, is the same sign that Dennis Nedry's character knocks down while trying to escape from the park. The image might just be a tease but is very interesting since the new film is supposed to take place 22 years after the events of the original, posing the question if we might get to see more familiar things in future images and on the film itself, because no plot has been revealed everything is left to speculation at this point. I was one of the many people who enjoyed the hell out of the first Jurassic Park and consider it a classic, I wasn't big on the sequels but I am excited for this new film and really want to go back to the world that was established in the original. Check out the image the director shared below from the set of Jurassic World.

Bryan Singer Officially Set to Direct 'X-men: Apocalypse'

X-men: Apocalypse is one of the films that people are anticipating the most for 2016, with that much anticipation we want to know more and more about the film but for the moment that knowledge is limited. Without anything being actually official, we know that the film is to begin shooting in 2015 and that we may get a bald Professor X and that is where common knowledge ends, but now we have something more concrete and it is that Bryan Singer has officially signed on as director for the upcoming X-Men film.

Deadline broke the news that Singer has closed the deal with 20th Century Fox and will return to direct the sequel to X-men: Days of Future Past, which is what we were all expecting so there is no surprise in the news but it is still good to get official confirmation. Getting Singer to direct again is a no brainer given the massive success that Days of Future Past brought and after he gave life to this franchise with his first two films, he was the one to bring it back to life with the latest one. Hopefully this is the beginning of more news to come of the film, no plot or any details have been revealed other than the title but I know Singer will knock it out of the park again when X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters in May 27th, 2016.

'The Interview' Red-Band Trailer

The red band trailer for the upcoming comedy, The Interview, has hit the web and it is classic Rogen/Franco funny. The film stars James Franco and Seth Rogen as a TV Producer and TV Host duo that trying to get out of their usual material land an interview with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, rare opportunity that quickly turns into more than what they asked for when the CIA recruits them to assassinate Jong-un.

Because of the material and being based on a real-life leader of a country, this film has come with some controversy with North Korea completely against the release of the film, which comes as no surprise and even caused Sony Pictures to make actual changes in the film (reported by THR). This trailer gives us classic comedy that Rogen and his team have us used to, and it is great, the trailer makes you laugh and want to see more. The Interview is directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg with a screenplay by Dan Sterling and it hits theaters on December 25th. Check out the trailer below, and remember this is a red band trailer so it does contain inappropriate material.

Roberto Orci Departs from 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers'

To the surprise of many Lionsgate had previously announced the development of a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers film that intends to be released on July 22nd, 2016. Writer/Director Roberto Orci was attached as executive producer but now because of scheduling conflicts with Star Trek 3, which he is directing, Orci has been forced to drop out of the project.

Deadline reported on the departure of Orci from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers but points out that this will have no effect on the plans of development of the film and so far the release date will remain the same. Rights holder Haim Saban will produce the film along with Brian Casentini, also producing are Allison Shearmur, Erik Feig and Jim Miller from Lionsgate.

Matt Damon in Talks for Zhang Yimou's 'The Great Wall'

Matt Damon has been on the news radar this week because of his reunion with director Paul Greengrass in their return to the Bourne Identity franchise, and now he appears again but because the actor is reported to be in talks for the lead role in director Zhang Yimou's film The Great Wall.

Deadline reported that Damon has begun negotiations to star in the film that Legendary Pictures has been trying to get off the ground for years. The film had previously set Ed Zwick to direct with a script by Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro, and would star Henry Cavill and Benjamin Walker, but that didn't end up working so Zhang Yimou got on board to direct and Tony Gilroy has written the most recent draft of the script. The Great Wall is meant to be a story that goes in depth behind the mysteries of why the Great Wall of China was built, and what secrets lay undiscovered under its stones.

This film and the project as a whole seems good, the premise sounds very interesting, Zheng Yimou is a great director and I can see why he is the choice for a film like this. Matt Damon is of course an amazing actor and has said to have wanted to work with Yimou before, Damon has already worked with scripts by Gilroy so if all of this ends up happening it could work well for everybody involved. No release date has been revealed for the film at the moment.

'The Maze Runner' Sequel Gets Release Date

Successful young adult book movie adaptations seem to be the big trend in Hollywood these days, currently The Hunger Games lead the race with Divergent and The Maze Runner following the example and cashing in on the trend of post apocalyptic adventures. This doesn't mean that every film adapted from a YA book is destined to be successful, without getting into specific titles the are some movies trying to follow the trend that won't be getting any sequels. The franchise that will be getting a sequel is The Maze Runner and for those anticipating the next film, it just got a release date.

The Maze Runner opened in theaters this weekend and performed very well, the film made $37.6 million on a budget that was around $30 million. The sequel had already been in pre-production, a script was already in the works and even concept art was shown at Comic-Con, but even with all the pieces set the making of the sequel was depending on the success of the first film and to the relief of the studio and fans, everything seems to have worked for the best. The sequel will be titled The Scorch Trials and has been set to be released on September 18th, 2015, Wes Ball will return to direct with a script written by T.S. Nowlin.

Warner Bros. and DC Want 'Fury' Director for 'Suicide Squad' Movie

Director David Ayer who is behind the upcoming film Fury is being eyed for a Warner Bros. film centered on the DC villain team-up known as the Suicide Squad. The project has reportedly been in development for a couple of years with a script written by Justin Marks, but it was earlier this year that Warner Bros. started looking for a director with dark, edgy and gritty qualities that Ayer seems to fit perfectly.

THR reported that Ayer is circling the project which is expected to take one of the dates that Warner Bros. announced for untitled DC films through 2020. The Suicide Squad roster is originally made up of convicted supervillains Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark and Captain Boomerang, they are forced to work for the government for reduced sentences by completing missions that will most likely see them all dead, hence the name of the team. I hope more material about the film comes soon, I am very excited to hear about this project and think it could work out great with the director they want to attach.

Fox Delays 'Fantastic 4' and 'Assassin's Creed'

While announcing the long-awaited arrival of Deadpool, 20th Century Fox has also decided to announce some shifts to the calendar on a couple of their films, specifically Fantastic 4 and Assassin's Creed. The Fantastic 4 reboot directed by Josh Trank and starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell was initially set to be released on June 16th, 2015, while Assassins Creed starring Michael Fassbender was set to be released on August 7th, 2015, but that no longer is the case.

THR reports that the announcement from Fox removes Assassin's Creed from its initially intended released date but instead of giving it a new one leaves the release date of the film to be announced, though insiders on the project say it would be released in 2016. Fantastic 4 is reported to be moving a couple of months and taking the August 7th, 2015 spot that was left vacant, which is said to be following the example that Guardians of The Galaxy set that August can be a profitable month to release and is much less crowded. Worries come from the shift in Assassin's Creed, the script has gone through rewrites, production has had scheduling issues and the movie was said would not be finished in time, hopefully these problems end up just as setbacks and will not harm the film in the long run.

'Godzilla' Writer Max Borenstein Returning for Sequel

Warner Bros. and Legendary were quick to announce Godzilla 2 at Comic-Con, announcement that comes as no surprise given the success that the film had and also teased what monsters we could see Godzilla fight next. The film already has director Gareth Edwards returning to the project and now adds writer Max Borenstein also going back to write the script for the sequel that is set to hit theaters on June 8th, 2018. Deadline reported the return of Borenstein who looks to be the guy for the job when it comes to script-writing for monster movies, he also wrote the script for the upcoming Skull Island.

The boring part is having to wait four years to get the sequel to Godzilla, but given the busy schedule of the director there appears to be no other way to go. I was very neutral about Godzilla, it wasn't what I was expecting and like some people was disappointed in how little screen time the title monster actually got (There is a video online that adds all Godzilla scenes to a mere eight minutes of screen time). Having the director and now the screenwriter return to the film makes complete sense given that it work great the first time around, hopefully it does again.

Ang Lee to Direct Film Based on Iraq War Novel

According to DeadlineAng Lee will direct a film adaptation of the Iraq war novel Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk written by Ben Fountain. The story follows Billy Lynn and his squad as they become heroes after surviving a battle in Iraq, the squad is brought home to do a tour supporting the war and are set to return to the fight after appearing in the halftime show of a football game. Lee will direct the film from a script written by Simon Beaufoy.

The story from the book sounds very interesting, having to deal with what the squad went through, then promote it and have to return to that sounds like something crazy to deal with and seems like it would make something pretty good to see on the big screen. Ang Lee is an amazing director and you definitely have to pay attention to anything he gets attached to so I'm curious to what this film will shape up to be.
