Kate Mara Offered a Role in Ridley Scott's 'The Martian'

The Martian is well looking to be Ridley Scott's next project following his conclusion of Exodus: Gods Among Us, the script by Drew Goddard adapted from a book by Andy Weir tells the story of an astronaut, played by Matt Damon, who ends up stranded on Mars after his crew evacuates the planet leaving him for dead. After reports went around that Kristin Wiig and Jessica Chastain were circling roles in the film now Kate Mara has been reportedly offered a role in the film, also Mackenzie Davis is said to be in finals talks for a small but important part.

Deadline reported on Mara being offered a role while The Wrap revealed that Davis was in final negotiations to join and reported Chastain as locked for a part in the film. This posses the question whether these two roles are the ones Wiig and Chastain were being rumored for, if all of them are getting different roles, or if only two of the four mentioned actresses will land roles. No official casting confirmation has been announced yet so we will have to wait for that to answer our casting questions.
