Will Ferrel Talks 'Zoolander 2'

It seems that everywhere you look you can find news or stories about a sequel being made or in talks to be made many years afters the original film was released, and well... here is another one. Actor Will Ferrel has made some comments recently about the status of Zoolander 2.

According to THR (via Screen Rant), when in France receiving an award at the Deauville Film Festival, Ferrel hinted his return as Mugatu in Zoolander 2 by saying,  “We are actually supposed to do a read-through of a sequel script soon, and Mugatu is a part of it.”

From what I understand there has been talk of making this film for years but nothing has lead to development of the film yet, so these comments don't really indicate that the sequel to the 2001 comedy will come anytime soon. I think there is a time limit to when a sequel is still worth making and 13 years (so far) is pushing it a little bit, the track record for those situations hasn't also been the best. But after saying all that, I have to add that I would be one of the few that would still show up in the theater to watch these characters together again, but I don't think many others would so I still think the film isn't worth making.
