Roberto Orci Departs from 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers'

To the surprise of many Lionsgate had previously announced the development of a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers film that intends to be released on July 22nd, 2016. Writer/Director Roberto Orci was attached as executive producer but now because of scheduling conflicts with Star Trek 3, which he is directing, Orci has been forced to drop out of the project.

Deadline reported on the departure of Orci from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers but points out that this will have no effect on the plans of development of the film and so far the release date will remain the same. Rights holder Haim Saban will produce the film along with Brian Casentini, also producing are Allison Shearmur, Erik Feig and Jim Miller from Lionsgate.
