'23 Jump Street' Lands Writer

22 Jump Street made the smart and conscious choice to make fun of itself for being a sequel and made more fun of it by revealing a long list of following films in the credits, but after the success of the sequel it seems that the idea will not be remaining just as a joke and Sony is already putting things in motion for 23 Jump Street.

Deadline gave the exclusive that Rodney Rothman who was among the writers of the sequel has been brought on board to write the script for 23 Jump Street. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are attached to produce and are overseeing the script but are not committed to direct this third installment at the moment, the choice whether to direct or not is reportedly up to them. This team of people have been doing a great job so to see familiar names on the project is a good sign, so time will tell if the directing duo will take the big chair or not and what it will mean for the film.
