Theo James Starring in New 'Underworld' Film

A couple of weeks ago it was reported that the Underworld franchise would continue with another film in the works with Cory Goodman attached to write the script. The film is now reported to be a continuation of the universe previously established instead of a reboot as it was originally thought, and will follow another character other than Kate Beckinsale's Selene.

THR gave the exclusive that Divergent star Theo James will be the lead in this fifth film where he is assumed to be reprising his role from Underworld: Awakening as a vampire called David who aided Selene, but Variety is reporting that Kate Beckinsale will not be back in her original role. James would play the main character in this new film with along with two new female characters who are yet to be cast. No word on a title or the plot of the film for the time being but shooting is set to start in the spring.

My thoughts still are where they were when the news of the new film broke, I am simply not interested in this franchise anymore. Maybe this new casting with help the film with fans of the actor from his other franchise Divergent going to see it, but until I see something else from it still I'm not on board with Underworld 5 for now.
