Fox to Release a "Rogue Cut" of 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' in 2015

Before X-Men: Days of Future Past hit theaters this summer it was known that Anna Paquin's character, Rogue, had a role to play in the film that was eventually cut from the theatrical version. Rogue played a role in a sub-plot that didn't serve the main story, so all of her scenes ended up being cut and we only got to see her in a small cameo at the end of the film. Now it looks like Fox has plans to show the fans what the film would have looked like if those scenes weren't cut.

Variety reports that the studio is planning to release a "Rogue Cut" of X-Men Days of Future Past, most likely sometime in Summer 2015. The re-release will add more than 10 minutes of extra footage, that along with all of the Rogue scenes will include additional sequences with other characters. Writer/producer Simon Kinberg had some comments about the relevance of Rogue's sub-plot in the film:
“It’s a big chunk, a substantial part of the movie.  We want to give (fans) the fullest picture of the film—behind the camera, and in front of it… Every movie has scenes that are cut out, but not every movie has scenes cut out with such a beloved character.”
I think this is a smart move by Fox, they get to ride the success of Days of Future Past in anticipation of X-Men: Apocalypse and the fans get to see more of this great film. I am sure that the people that were hoping to see Rogue the first time around and that were disappointed they didn't get to will be thrilled about this.
