2014 isn't over yet and 2015 hasn't even started but eyes are already set on 2016, specially the summer which is packing up with great titles to look forward to like Captain America 3, X-Men: Apocalypse, Finding Dory, Doctor Strange and Planet of The Apes 3, just to mention a few, and one title that is believed to be included in the pack is Star Trek 3. The third installment of the franchise has not received an official release date but with the script already done popular speculation is that it will be set for 2016, and now comments made by Spock himself Zachary Quinto seem to confirm the suspicion.
While doing an interview with the Today show (via JoBlo) Quinto was talking about the next Star Trek film and said, “I think it's on the horizon, things are rumbling, so I have a feeling that we will be back in production sometime in the next six months.”
These comments confirm that everything is is motion for Star Trek 3 and that shooting for the film could begin by spring 2015, which would fit perfectly if expectations are correct and summer 2016 is the intended release date. I haven't been a Star Trek fan, sorry if that offends anybody, I didn't follow the TV shows or the original films, but after seeing Star Trek and Star Trek: Into Darkness I have been on board with the franchise. Hopefully we start hearing more news about the film soon, Star Trek 3 will be directed by Roberto Orci with a script he helped write along with J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay.
