Michael Peña in Talks for Ridley Scott's 'The Martian'

Ridley Scott's The Martian is really picking up steam, at least when it comes to casting in the past weeks, with all the big names being thrown into the mix we can now add Michael Peña. The actor is reported to be in talks for a role in the film and would join Matt Damon.

Variety reported that Peña is in early negotiations for a role in the film and that the actor is interested, but his involvement will only depend on his schedule which is looking busy. Jessica Chastain is also reported to be in talks for a part it the film, but names like Kate Mara, Kristen Wiig and Mackenzie Davis have also been circling the film for possible roles.

The Martian will be based on a book by Andy Weir, that tells the story of an astronaut stranded on Mars after being left for dead by his crew and must find a way to remain alive and get back home. Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon, the film is set to be released on November 25th, 2015.
