The boring part is having to wait four years to get the sequel to Godzilla, but given the busy schedule of the director there appears to be no other way to go. I was very neutral about Godzilla, it wasn't what I was expecting and like some people was disappointed in how little screen time the title monster actually got (There is a video online that adds all Godzilla scenes to a mere eight minutes of screen time). Having the director and now the screenwriter return to the film makes complete sense given that it work great the first time around, hopefully it does again.

'Godzilla' Writer Max Borenstein Returning for Sequel
Warner Bros. and Legendary were quick to announce Godzilla 2 at Comic-Con, announcement that comes as no surprise given the success that the film had and also teased what monsters we could see Godzilla fight next. The film already has director Gareth Edwards returning to the project and now adds writer Max Borenstein also going back to write the script for the sequel that is set to hit theaters on June 8th, 2018. Deadline reported the return of Borenstein who looks to be the guy for the job when it comes to script-writing for monster movies, he also wrote the script for the upcoming Skull Island.
