'The Conjuring 2' Pushed to 2016, Untitled Horror Film takes October 2015 Spot

With the huge success that was The Conjuring, it was no surprise at all that Warner Bros. started to develop a sequel shortly after, and with the spinoff Annabelle following in that prosperity, this horror franchise has proven to be a money maker. The studio had scheduled the The Conjuring 2 for an October 23rd, 2015 released date, but Warner Bros. has decided to push back the film and set for release in 2016.

Deadline reported on the date shift for the horror film sequel, and also points out that Warner Bros. will have an untitled horror film take the October 23rd, 2015 slot. According to the report, the films that could possibly take the spot are Phil Claydon's Crawlspace, about a widower who moves into an apparent prefect new house with his new wife and daughter, and Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff's Superstition, about a family that moves into a home that once was the site of an execution of a witch.

I am a bit bummed about the move of The Conjuring 2, since I loved the first one and am really looking forward for the next one. No specifics were given about why it was moved, so I just hope that it isn't anything that will hurt the film when it comes out on the new date. The bright side you could say is that we will get another horror film in its place, being that it ends up being one of the two speculated films or a completely new one, I just hope it will be a good quality horror film.
