After long trying to make another I Am Legend film and build a franchise around the title, Warner Bros. has apparently found the solution to expand by rebooting the original film. The studio has hired Gary Graham to write the script for the reboot, which will not include Will Smith and is unknown how it will relate to the 2007 original.
Deadline reports that Warner Bros. will retrofit the spec script A Garden At The End Of The World into the I Am Legend reboot, the script was written by Gary Graham and bought by Warner Bros. after the author, who worked at an Apple store at the time, submitted it to the Black List website. The studio noticed enough similarities between A Garden At The End Of The World and I Am Legend for them to hire Graham to redraft his script to fit into the apocalyptic universe.
