Jena Malone in 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice', Details Revealed

Actress Jena Malone had visited the set of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice while the film was shooting in Detroit, this appearance had rumors flying that she would appear in the film, but given her previous work with Zack Snyder, rumors didn't get too far because it was thought to just be a set visit. Shortly after, the actress posted a picture on her Instagram where she had a new hair style that resembled that of Robin in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, and being that Zack Snyder is known to be taking inspiration for the film from that comic series, the rumors started again saying that Malone would be in the film and would play that version of Robin who is a young schoolgirl named Carrie Kelley. Jena Malone is now being reported as a part of the cast, but her role is being kept under wraps, and on top of that more details from the film have surfaced from shooting taking place on the campus of Michigan State University.

THR reported the involvement of Malone in the film, placing her in a mystery role that has not been revealed, and via TheWrap we found out possible spoilers from the film that an extra revealed to local NBC affiliate WILX-10 News. Multiple sources reportedly confirmed to THR that Malone would have a role in the film, but the role is yet to be announced, her named was also mentioned in the report from WILX-10 News.

--Possible spoilers may follow, so if you don't want to know possible details from Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, stop reading ahead--

A person claiming to be an extra in the film, while it was shooting at MSU, spoke with WILX-10 News and revealed possible spoilers from the film, all while remaining in anonymity since revealing details is a violation of the non-disclosure agreement and could result in a $5 million fine.  The individual told the news channel that the scene they were filming was a party that included paparazzi, fireworks and special effects, where Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor would get into an altercation that would lead to military involvement. The claimed extra also revealed that the script for the film featured a female Robin, going back to speculation that Jena Malone would be playing the character.

All this information is coming from someone claiming to be an extra, which we don't know for sure, so all that was revealed from that source could be true or not (I wouldn't risk a $5 million fine unless someone was paying me $10 million, and even then I would think about it). The scene where Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor fight sounds like it would be very fun to see, and military involvement would mean that things really get out of hand, so being that it is true I really want to see that on screen. Jena Malone is a good actress and has worked with Zack Snyder before so I can see her involvement being true and I'm fine with it, but when it comes to her being Robin I'm still not willing to believe that until it is confirmed, I can see some sort of reference to the character being made in way or the character being used in a different way, but I just can't wrap myself around that in this dark and serious cinematic universe Batman would have a sidekick, and Carrie Kelley out of all the others. So I won't buy into the whole Robin stuff until I see an official confirmation. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in theaters on March 25th, 2016.
