Yesterday we saw the first photos and today Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for the upcoming film Focus, starring Will Simth as a seasoned con man and Margot Robbie as his scrappy pickpocket protege. Directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, Focus follows Nick (Will Smith) and Jess (Margot Robbie) as they get to close for comfort and their relationship falls apart, only to be reunited three years later, but this time Jess has become an experienced con artist and is the one that could put an end to Nick's most recent and biggest scam.
I feel pretty neutral about this first trailer for Focus, it did explain what was going on and introduced us to the main characters, so it does do its job of giving us the foundation of what the film is about, but it didn't really get me excited for the film. I think the tone was a little to serious for what I thought this film would be ("comedy-caper-love story"), so maybe I was expecting the trailer to be a little more fun, but I did see glimpses of comedy in the trailer. Anyway, it still to early on to judge. Focus opens on February 27th, 2015. Check out the trailer below.
