Fans that were expecting to see Leonardo DiCaprio as Steve Jobs will be disappointed to know that the actor has exited talks to take the leading role in the biopic. DiCaprio passed on taking the lead in Sony's upcoming biopic centering on the Apple co-founder, the film will be directed by Danny Boyle and the script was written by Aaron Sorkin based on a book by Walter Isaacson.
THR revealed that DiCaprio exited the project for instead shooting The Revenant, the actor could have shot the Jobs biopic right after, but according to the report, sources say that DiCaprio will take a long break from acting after finishing that film so he decided to drop out of the Steve Jobs project entirely. With the departure of DiCaprio there are other names that are circling the role that include Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Bradley Cooper.
Whoever Sony ends up getting to star in the film, one thing is for sure, this film will be an interesting take on the life of Steve Jobs. The biopic will be composed of three thirty minute segments that will follow Jobs right before the launch of three key products, the Mac, NeXT and the iPod.
