'Ghost in the Shell' Being Offered to Scarlett Johansson

A little over month ago it was reported that Margot Robbie was in early talks to star in a live-action version of the popular Japanese manga Ghost in the Shell, but with the actress circling a role in the DC film Suicide Squad, those talks have reportedly ended. Now, the reports are that DreamWorks has made an offer to Scarlett Johansson to take the leading role in the film.

According to Deadline, DreamWorks has offered $10 million to Scarlett Johansson to play the role of Mokoto Kusanagi, the leader of a covert ops organization, in a future where most people have cybernetic bodies or body parts but still have a soul or "ghost", that targets cyber-terrorists who hack into the bodies of regular people in order to pursue their criminal ends.

I can see Scarlett Johansson in this role more than I can see Margot Robbie for two reasons, first, she has already kind of established herself as an action star and second, she has already led a film in an action role, both which can be proved by her film Lucy and her role as Black Widow. We have to keep in mind that she was just offered the role, so it is not yet confirmed that she will for sure take the part.
