Production is moving forward well for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, but something that was still unknown was the cast, which was left to speculate on until now. Jennifer Jason Leigh has been added to take the female leading role in the film, which will be distributed by the Weinstein Co. and is scheduled to begin shooting in Colorado on December 8th. The Hateful Eight will take place in the early 1870s after the Civil War, and will center on two bounty hunters, a tough female prisoner and a local sheriff waiting for a storm to pass by with four men who may attempt to free the prisoner.
The Wrap reported the addition of Jennifer Jason Leigh, playing the role of the female prisoner named Daisy Domergue. The report also points out that Tarantino favorites Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Walton Goggins, Denis Menochet, and Bruce Dern are expected to also be added but are not officially cast yet. Jennifer Jason Leigh beat out some big names to land the role so this is a good sign to what we can expect from her in this film, and the addition of the Tarantino film regulars would make it even better, I am very excited for this film to come out and am expecting something great. The Hateful Eight is expected to be released in late 2015.
