New 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' Images

Warner Bros. has released new images from The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, giving us a glimpse of the fiery mess that will be Smaug's assault on Lake-town. The film is only two and a half weeks away, and the reveals continue to build up excitement for the release of the film. I'm guessing that given where The Desolation of Smaug ends that these images will be from the initial part of the film, and if this is how the film will begin, we are in for one entertaining spectacle in The Battle of the Five Armies.

I feel that there has been a lot of promotion material for this film, but even with that, I think hey have done a good job in not giving away too much from the film. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies stars Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Stephen Fry, Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt, and Orlando Bloom, opening in theaters on December 17th.
