J.K. Simmons Joins 'Kong: Skull Island'

Following the news of Skull Island being re-titled Kong: Skull Island and pushed back to 2017 come more reports about the upcoming film, but this time in the form of casting. The film has now reportedly added Whiplash's J.K. Simmons to star in the film alongside Tom Hiddleston.

The report comes from Deadline, but the role that Simmons would play remains unknown at this point. Kong: Skull Island will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts from a script by John Gatins and Max Borenstein, the film will center on the origin of the mighty King Kong.

This addition sounds great to me, J.K. Simmons is a very talented actor and with the award buzz he is getting for Whiplash there is little if any room for disappointment with this addition. I can't say much more since there is barely anything else known about the film or the character Simmons would be playing to comment further on how well he fits, but overall and with what I have to go on I am very happy with this choice. Kong: Skull Island is set to be released in theaters on March 10th, 2017.
