Dwayne Johnson in Talks for Key Role in Disney's 'Moana'

Disney Animation may have just recently announced their 56th animated film with Moana, but apparently the film is already rounding up their voice talent. Dwayne Johnson is reportedly in talks to voice a key character in the upcoming film. Moana has been described as follows:
In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania, Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.
The Wrap reported on Johnson being in negotiations for a role in Moana, the role that he is in talks for is that of the demi-god Maui. The report mentions that the role of Moana has not been cast, there is also no mention of any actress being up for the role. I think this role and film sound like a great fit for Dwayne Johnson, he is arguably one of the most charismatic actors today so an animated film of this kind should be something he can be good in. Ron Clements and John Musker (The Little Mermaid) are directing, Moana is set to hit theaters in late 2016.
