THR reported on the departure of Christan Bale from the film, being told by sources that the actor decided to drop out of the film after much deliberation and conflicting feelings that led to the conclusion that he was not right for the part. The actor had been confirmed by the writer of the film, but unfortunately it didn't seem to work out. This will mark the second A-Lister to turn down the role, with Leonardo DiCaprio also exiting the project. Nothing was said about what this departure could mean for Seth Rogen's possible casting.
I have been excited about this project after hearing that the idea was for the film to take place in three key moments backstage before the announcement of three Apple products, and the "confirmation" of Bale just captured my attention even more. I am disappointed that he isn't taking the role because he is obviously an amazingly talented actor, but he must know what he is doing and there had to be something there for him to think he wasn't right for the part. I am still interested in this film and I hope things can come together after this, I am very curious who Sony will end up casting to star.
