Harmony Korine, who directed Spring Breakers, will write and direct his next project The Trap. It was reported that the director has cast Jamie Foxx and Benicio Del Toro to star in the gangster drama, which the director refers to as his most ambitious film yet. The film is expected to begin shooting early next year in Miami.
Variety and THR reported on the casting of Foxx and Del Toro in the revenge film. The film is reportedly centering on two childhood friends in their late 30s, of which one is successful and the other has spent most of his life in jail. When the successful man is set to receive a big recognition, the other man gets out of jail determined to get his revenge.
I didn't see Spring Breaker, so there isn't much I can comment on about the director, but I do know he did receive some critical acclaim so that is a good sign. I am a sucker for crime thrillers, and add talents like Jamie Foxx and Benicio Del Toro and you catch my attention. I'll wait until I hear more about this film to know how to feel about it, but for now I am a little interested.
