'Captain America: Civil War' Adds Daniel Brühl as Villain

On the announced slate of films for Marvel's Phase 3, one of the most anticipated films is Captain America: Civil War. The film will see Iron Man and Captain America facing off, but it looks like there will be a villain involved. According to reports, actor Daniel Brühl has joined the upcoming Marvel film in the role of a villain.

Marvel officially announced the addition of Brühl to the cast, but gave no details about his role. Kevin Feige said the following about the casting:
"With Daniel's ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes."
Deadline also reported on the casting of Brühl, pointing out that his role will be that of a villain. In a separate report, Variety says that Daniel Brühl will not be the main villain in Captain America: Civil War, but could potentially be the main villain in Doctor Strange.

There isn't much to say on the casting if the role is unknown, but just knowing the role will be of a villain is something to go on. I like the casting, I have only seen Brühl in Inglorious Basterds and I liked his performance there, and from what I hear his role in Rush was great, so adding him sounds good to me. I am curious to know what character he will be playing, specially if it does end up being a villain in Doctor Strange as well. I wonder what kind of role the character will have in the Civil War story, but we will have to wait for that. Captain America: Civil War will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, also starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Chadwick Boseman, the film hits theaters on May 6th, 2016.
