'X-Men: Apocalypse' Could Put Focus on Mystique and Magneto's Romance

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to begin shooting in April next year for a May 27th, 2016 release date, and those of us highly anticipating the film are more than happy to get to know any little details about what to expect from the Bryan Singer film. At the moment we know that the film will predominantly revolve around the First Class cast, and from the title we may have an idea of the basis of the story. But according to reports, a romance between Magneto and Mystique may be playing a big part in X-Men: Apocalypse.

In a story that focuses on the busy schedule of Jennifer Lawrence and her upcoming projects, THR revealed some information about X-Men: Apocalypse, which Collider later reported on specifically. According to the original report from THR, sources that have seen the script say that Fox will take advantage of the star power of Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender by placing the romance between Mystique and Magneto front and center in the film.

As much as I enjoy the relationship between Mystique and Magneto, I don't think I would want X-Men: Apocalypse revolving around their romance, or any romance for that matter. I wan't X-men: Apocalypse to be about the X-Men fighting Apocalypse, and no romances getting in the way of that. I think having Fassbender and Lawrence as main characters is already taking advantage of their star power, them having a romance won't necessarily make that more effective. Still, I don't completely buy the story that the script will mainly focus on Mystique and Magneto's romance, It will possibly be part of the story but I don't think it will be the whole picture. X-men: Apocalypse begins shooting next year in April and is set to be released on May 27th, 2016.
