While talking to Collider, Kebbell was asked about being Doom in the upcoming film and said the following:
"I'm excited to see it too, and my nerves really…The only thing I can tease you about is what I worked on most was the voice because nobody—even in the cartoons, when I was watching them I was like, 'So where's he from?' There's a mild change and I'll tell you because of our history. He's Victor Domashev, not Victor Von Doom in our story. And I'm sure I'll be sent to jail for telling you that. The Doom in ours—I'm a programmer. Very anti-social programmer. And on blogging sites I’m 'Doom'."To people familiar with the character's origin in the comics and those who are fans of the character this must sound incredibly strange, and are probably not too pleased that the reboot will alter Dr. Doom's origin like this. People were initially excited to see a reboot of The Fantastic Four, but what little info from this film has come out seems to be discouraging fans little by little. I'm not that emotionally invested in the character to take offense of what they plan to do or change, but even I have to admit that it does sound pretty weird. I don't know how to feel about The Fantastic Four at this point, but hopefully something will get me more excited for the film before it comes out on August 7th, 2015.
