Dr. Doom May Have Very Different Origin in New 'Fantastic Four' Movie

There is very little that is known about Josh Trank's upcoming The Fantastic Four, other than the cast and the release date. Any other details like the plot have been kept under wraps, but now we know a little more on one character thanks to Toby Kebbell, who will be playing Dr. Doom in the film. The actor revealed some interesting information regarding the origin that his character will have in new The Fantastic Four movie.

While talking to Collider, Kebbell was asked about being Doom in the upcoming film and said the following:
"I'm excited to see it too, and my nerves really…The only thing I can tease you about is what I worked on most was the voice because nobody—even in the cartoons, when I was watching them I was like, 'So where's he from?'  There's a mild change and I'll tell you because of our history. He's Victor Domashev, not Victor Von Doom in our story.  And I'm sure I'll be sent to jail for telling you that.  The Doom in ours—I'm a programmer.  Very anti-social programmer.  And on blogging sites I’m 'Doom'."
To people familiar with the character's origin in the comics and those who are fans of the character this must sound incredibly strange, and are probably not too pleased that the reboot will alter Dr. Doom's origin like this. People were initially excited to see a reboot of The Fantastic Four, but what little info from this film has come out seems to be discouraging fans little by little. I'm not that emotionally invested in the character to take offense of what they plan to do or change, but even I have to admit that it does sound pretty weird. I don't know how to feel about The Fantastic Four at this point, but hopefully something will get me more excited for the film before it comes out on August 7th, 2015.
