A film about the iconic band and with such a big-name director sounds fine and dandy, but a report by Deadline points out that Scorsese's schedule and time-taking development process on films may mean that a 2016 release date may be a bit optimistic. Scorsese future projects include the film Silence that has a 2015 release date, as well as the pilot for a Shutter Island TV series, Sinatra and The Irishman, so it looks like unless the director is willing to push back some of his other projects and rush the Ramones film, which doesn't have a script yet, a 2016 release date does sound like pushing it. Nothing is definitive yet so we will have to keep our eyes open to see what happens with this possible project.
