Jude Law Circling Villain Role in Guy Ritchie's 'Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur'

Guy Ritchie's Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur continues to gather up its cast, and the next role to be filled is looking to be that of the villain. From what information has come out from this film, we know that this will be the first of an ambitious six-film roster, we know that Charlie Hunnam is set to play the leading role of King Arthur, and that French actress Astrid Berges-Frisbey landed the female leading role of Guinevere, and that's about where common knowledge ends. But, like I said before, the villain role is the one that is looking to get filled, with reports pointing at Jude Law to possibly land the part.

Variety gave the exclusive on Law being in negotiations to play the main villain in Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur, also mentioning that with the plot being kept under wraps, It's not clear whether Law would be the villain for this first installment only or for the whole series of films. According to the report, the film is still looking for the part of King Arthur's mentor, which was previously thought would go to Idris Elba, but no deal was reached and the actor left the project.

I'm really on board with this casting, Jude Law is a great actor and I would be very interested to see him in a role like this. It's still not a fact that Law will have the part, but if he does I will be happy with the choice. I would like to know more about the character he would play so I could have more to comment on, but I guess we will have to wait for that reveal. Guy Ritchie's Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur is set to be released on July 22nd, 2016.
